Features
The only affine conversion in the tool
Celsius-Fahrenheit-Kelvin don't convert with a fixed factor like the other 11 families: they need a formula with scale and offset (e.g. °F = °C × 9/5 + 32). It's explained here, not just applied silently.
Validation below absolute zero
The tool flags any physically impossible value below absolute zero (-273.15°C / -459.67°F / 0 K).

FAQ
Because the two scales don't share the same zero point: 0°C doesn't equal 0°F. The conversion needs both a scale factor (9/5) and an offset (+32), unlike length, mass or volume which only use a multiplication factor.
98.6°F.
At -40 degrees: -40°C equals exactly -40°F, the only point where the two scales cross.
It's the lowest temperature physically possible: 0 K, equal to -273.15°C and -459.67°F. The converter flags any value below this threshold in any of the three scales.
Just add 273.15: it's the only pair of scales in this converter that shares the same scale factor (no multiplication), only the offset changes.
